Caprice Viennois — an evening of Viennese joie de vivre

Under the inspiring direction of the young violinist and conductor Daniel Auner, a homage to the legendary Fritz Kreisler awaits you. Let yourself be enchanted by the sounds of Mozart, Strauss, Lehár and Kálmán, joined by international soloists and dancers.

The concert series Caprice Viennois in the Mozart Hall of the Wiener Konzerthaus provides the setting for this musical experience. In a version of Fritz Kreisler’s Caprice Viennois adapted specially for this concert, Daniel Auner also shines as violin soloist. The Monti Csárdás, played by the long-serving concertmaster of the Vienna Hofburg Orchestra, Christian Scholl, is a further highlight of the evening.

The programme is completed by the elegance and vitality of Mozart’s most famous operatic arias and the finest melodies from the operettas of Strauss, Lehár and Kálmán. The sweeping waltzes and polkas of Johann and Josef Strauss let you feel the lightness of Viennese life and carry you musically into the historic Vienna of the late nineteenth century.
