Since its founding in 1991 the Vienna Mozart Trio has played in major concert halls across Europe and Asia — among them the Sala Verdi in Milan, the Wigmore Hall in London, the Concert Hall of the Royal Dublin Society, the Concertgebouw Rotterdam, the Palais du Luxembourg in Paris, the Musées Royaux des Beaux-Arts de Belgique in Brussels, the Auditorio Centro Cultural Conde Duque in Madrid, the Auditori Winterthur Barcelona, the Beijing Concert Hall, the Shanghai Concert Hall and the Wiener Konzerthaus.
In Britain and Ireland
The trio has toured the British Isles regularly. It has played at the Wigmore Hall and at Kings Place in London, at the Concert Hall of the Royal Dublin Society, and for the Halifax Philharmonic Club at the Square Chapel — a programme of Mozart’s piano trios alongside Mendelssohn’s Trio in C minor Op. 66. Further appearances include the King’s Lynn Festival, the North Wales Music Festival, the Kilkenny Festival, the Festival of Chamber Music at the RDS in Dublin, and the NADSA concert series.
The ensemble has appeared at numerous festivals: Madeira Festival, Festival do Estoril, Festival Albacete, Festival nel Parco in Rome, Festival Iglesias, Estate Musicale di Alghero, Šibenik Festival, Lausitzer Musiksommer, Langenargener Sommerkonzerte, Corveyer Musikwochen, Musiksommer Obermain, Vendsyssel Festival, Klangbogen Wien, Kilkenny Festival, Festival of Chamber Music at the RDS in Dublin, Jakarta Festival, Thailand Festival, Maggio della Musica di Napoli, Settimane Musicali di Grado, Schubertíada Barcelona, King’s Lynn Festival, Festival de Musique en Bourbonnais, Les Musicales du Golfe and the North Wales Music Festival.
The Vienna Mozart Trio belongs today to the small group of ensembles known in almost every important musical centre.
Simeon Goshev, Daniel and Thomas-Michael Auner are artistically independent. This allows them a free and unconventional reading of the greatest possible intensity. The musicians see their calling in conveying music as a spontaneous and original experience, giving a broad public access to every stylistic period and every kind of musical expression — beginning with the Viennese Classics, with Mozart as one of the first composers for the piano trio, and reaching into the present.
From 2012 to 2018 the Vienna Mozart Trio organised and directed its own international music festival at Schloss Hunyadi on the southern edge of Vienna, with distinguished guest musicians and ensembles each year.
Daniel and Thomas-Michael Auner play instruments placed at their disposal by the Oesterreichische Nationalbank as a mark of distinction: Daniel Auner a violin by Giovanni Battista Guadagnini (1752), Thomas-Michael Auner a cello by Giovanni Grancino (Milan 1704), known as the Ex Piatti/Dunlop.
