1. Controller
The controller for the Kirchenmaus application is the developer Daniel Auner.

There is no user account with the developer and no central database holding your entries on his servers.
2. In brief
Invoices, receipts, entries, pots, master data and settings live on your device (SwiftData, app sandbox) — only with you, optionally on your own devices via iCloud.
Text recognition, dictation and Apple Intelligence run on the device.
Advertising: Google AdMob, subject to your consent where the law requires it. Purchase of Plus: Apple. Widget and share extension: an app group on the device, purely local.
Kirchenmaus has no bank login. Your invoices, receipts and entries are not transmitted to the developer.
3. What the application processes
Depending on use, locally on your device:
- entity master data: name, address, tax number, VAT ID, SVS number, tax adviser details, legal form, activity, country, currency
- invoices with client, date, number, amount, VAT rate, status, notes — and the associated document
- receipts with supplier, date, amount, category — and the associated document
- payment notices from the SVS and the tax office, with amounts and due dates
- entries, pots, savings plans, categories, reserve calculations
- settings: reminders, app lock, iCloud, advertising consent
- exports and backups you create yourself
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (use of the application) and Art. 6(1)(f) (legitimate interest in a functioning local application). For Switzerland the FADP applies accordingly.
4. Camera, files, Mail
When you scan an invoice or a receipt, the camera is used. Permission is requested only at the first scan and can be withdrawn at any time in the system settings. Captures stay on the device.
Files from the Files application or attachments from Mail are taken into the app group via the share extension. Nothing is transmitted to the developer’s servers.
5. Text recognition, dictation and Apple Intelligence
Text recognition on scans and documents uses Apple Vision on the device, with no network access by the recognition.
Dictation uses the device’s microphone and speech recognition. Both permissions are requested only at the first dictation. Recognition runs on the device.
On devices with Apple Intelligence, the system language model is used to read receipts, understand dictation and answer questions about your figures. Processing takes place on the device; content does not leave the iPhone. Without Apple Intelligence these functions are not available; the application then relies on the system’s text recognition.
6. iCloud, optional
If you switch on “Sync via iCloud” and are signed in to iCloud, SwiftData synchronises the data — including documents — across iPhone and iPad via your Apple account. Container: iCloud.com.auner.kirchenmaus, private database. Apple is the controller for the cloud. The developer has no access.
7. Face ID and device passcode, optional
The app lock uses Face ID, Touch ID or the device passcode solely on the device for unlocking. Raw biometric data never leaves the device and is not stored by the developer.
8. Reminders
Reminders for due savings instalments and open invoices are optional and are scheduled as local notifications on the device. No network access takes place; their content does not leave the device. Permission is requested only when you switch them on and can be withdrawn at any time.
9. Advertising and consent
The free version may show advertising via Google AdMob. Beforehand, a consent dialogue from the Google User Messaging Platform may appear where legally required. AdMob may process device data and advertising identifiers for this purpose. This data does not pass through the developer’s servers.
Consent can be revisited and changed under “More → Privacy”. Kirchenmaus Plus removes advertising permanently.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR where required.
10. In-app purchase
Kirchenmaus Plus is a one-off purchase (product ID kirchenmaus.werbung.entfernen). Billing and receipt run exclusively through Apple. The developer receives purchase information under the developer programme, but no content data.
11. Widgets
Home screen widgets read reserve, balance and — with Plus — savings plan notes from the device via an app group. They have no network access of their own.
12. Export and sharing
When you share backups, tables or the export package, you decide the recipient and the storage location. The application warns about insecure channels. Encrypted backups require a password known only to you; encryption takes place on the device.
13. Recipients
Apple iCloud sync, purchase processing, biometrics on the device. Transfer possibly to the USA on the basis of Apple’s standard contractual clauses.
Google advertising and consent management. Transfer possibly to the USA, subject to your consent.
Your invoices, receipts and entries are not transmitted to the developer.
14. Retention
The data remains on the device until you delete it in the application, overwrite a backup or remove the application. Invoices are subject to a statutory retention period of seven years (§ 132 BAO); no years are therefore deleted automatically. The developer keeps no central usage profiles.
15. Your rights
You have the rights granted by the GDPR: access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability, objection and withdrawal of consent. In practice you delete data within the application, export it using the export function, or remove the application.
You may lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — in Austria the Data Protection Authority, in Germany the competent state authority, in Switzerland the FDPIC.

16. Children
Kirchenmaus is not an application for children. It handles financial data and may contain advertising.
17. Liability
Kirchenmaus provides estimates based on the current values for Austria — VAT, SVS contributions, income tax and the profit allowance. Germany and Switzerland have different rates and thresholds; the calculation does not apply there. Binding are the assessment and the payment notice. For your situation, your tax adviser’s advice applies.
18. Changes
This statement may be adapted when the application is updated. The date given above applies.
