A beauty, isn't she...

D'Elia - a violin by Giovanni Battista Guadagnini

The instrument belongs to the collection of the Austrian National Bank and has an est. value of 1.3 Million Euro.

Giovanni Battista Guadagnini was an Italian luthier, today being regarded as one of the finest craftsmen of string instruments in history. He is widely considered the third greatest maker next to Antonio Stradivari and Giuseppe Guarneri "del Gesù". The loan is free of any charge; I am personally grateful to Dr. Hans Peter Haselsteiner, CEO of STRABAG, as he privately covers the annual insurance fee for me.

Daniel Auner proudly plays on "D'Elia" - a Giovanni Battista Guadagnini Violin 1752 that belongs to the collection of the Austrian National Bank. The instrument sounds even better with strings by Thomastik Infeld.
